If you want others to be happy, practice compassion.
Happiness is not something ready made. It comes from your own actions.
Be happy for no reason, like a child. If you are happy for a reason, you’re in trouble, because that reason can be taken from you.
An act to make another happy, inspires the other to make still another happy, and so happiness is aroused and abounds. Thousands of candles can be lighted from a single candle, and the life of the single candle will not be shortened. Happiness never decreases by being shared.
The moment when you realize a child living in total poverty is more happy than you are. Money truly cannot buy happiness. I am in pursuit of that happiness.
Happiness is your nature. It is not wrong to desire it. What is wrong is seeking it outside when it is inside.
Anonymous asked: I just got off my antidepressants because I wanted to pursue natural ways to deal with my depression, do you have any recommendations?
why yes i do, enchanting friend!!! here they are: practice yoga, meditation, conscious breathing, go for walks through nature, walk barefoot, soak up the sun’s light, listen to blissful music, eat lots of fresh fruits and vegetables, make sure you’re getting enough omega-3, exercise, dance, move your body, stretch, be with positive people (or energetic & happy animals!), practice gratitude, control your thoughts, make an effort to stay positive, help others, smile more, laugh!!! cry if you feel like it too - it releases harmful toxins from our beautiful body and you’ll feel better afterwards :) and here are some articles i think you might find quite helpful: 5 ways to outshine depression, how yoga helped me overcome depression, the best antidepressant ever, 3 steps to beating depression without anti-depressants, 5 ways to overcome depression, super brain smoothie, 3 simple yoga poses for beating a bad mood, 6 ways music can heal you, 5 tips to beat depression :) i also made this “happy playlist” a year ago, i still get high off happiness when i listen to it, hope it effects you in the same way, sweet love! realize that we are one, we are all connected, you’re never alone, you are me and i am you!!! <3 if you’re into it, psilocybin mushrooms have cured depression in many people as well! just make sure you surround yourself with happy people in a place you feel comfortable :) do whatever excites your spirit, i always feel unbelievably happy when i go to psytrance festivals centered on mother earth, blissful music, dance as an active meditation, happy people all around, ahhhhh it’s just the best <3 i could share with you so much more, wish you were near and i could guide you and show you the all-encompassing beauty of this world!!! look into your heart and be silent, hear its wisdom and you shall be healed :) so much love and light to you x
Happiness is not a state to arrive at, but a manner of traveling.
Tell everyone you know: “My happiness depends on me, so you’re off the hook.” And then demonstrate it. Be happy, no matter what they’re doing. Practice feeling good, no matter what. And before you know it, you will not give anyone else responsibility for the way you feel - and then, you’ll love them all. Because the only reason you don’t love them, is because you’re using them as your excuse to not feel good.
Do not educate your child to be rich. Educate him to be happy. So when he grows up, he’ll know the value of things, not the price.
The trick is in what one emphasizes. We either make ourselves miserable, or we make ourselves happy. The amount of work is the same.
Sadness gives depth. Happiness gives height. Sadness gives roots. Happiness gives branches. Happiness is like a tree going into the sky, and sadness is like the roots going down into the womb of the earth. Both are needed, and the higher a tree goes, the deeper it goes, simultaneously. The bigger the tree, the bigger will be the roots. In fact, it is always in proportion. That’s its balance.
